i don't want to be seen as a pretty thing;
it's the pretty things we're always breaking

pride and prejudice

jane austen

this was lea’s choice for me to read for this year’s xmas book trade (i’m having her read stephenson’s diamond age). i was never required to read this for school (as were many), which is a good thing, since i doubt i would have enjoyed it in high school. going to see the movie halfway through only picked up my reading pace.

mara and i were just talking about diamond age tonight. and we couldn’t remember the author off the top of our heads. so thank you, seth. you have answered our questions.

jesus man, i’m sorry. i hope you enjoyed the “humor,” or should i say “humour,” of mr. tizzlebottom dropping his napkin. goddamnit i hate jane austen. merry christmas.

i must confess, i doth find myself in somewhat of an emasculating position. would that i had enjoyed the book less.
