high fidelity
i have recently been urged by a few people to read this book, so last time i was at a barnes and noble, i picked it up (i almost didn’t pick it up because it had a NOW A HIT MOTION PICTURE! cover with a picture of cusack on it, and i hate those, but i decided not to judge the book by its cover). the book is pretty similar to the movie, which is to say that the movie did a very good job at covering the material and the mood that the book presents. the character of rob is an interesting one, a very real character (in my opinion), who is very candid about all the petty and meaningless actions he goes through. all in all, a good read, though not necessarily better than the movie based on it (see also trainspotting, by irvine welsh).
