la paella
this restaurant specializes in seafood, i guess. some of the tapas was good, but none of the entrees really did it for me. a little pricey. not good enough to warrant a repeat visit. (website, isthmus)
the mists of avalon
lea just finished this book, so we rented this from the library. three cheers for the madison public library system.
in print
i purchased a new printer, a canon i560, at best buy this weekend. this is good for many reasons, not the least of which are its value as a toy, its value as a reducer of the amount of hand copying of mapquest directions, and its value as a general tool for worthwhile human-computer interaction in the years to come. also, it prints 8×10 digital photos that are indistinguishable (by me, anyway) from “real” photos.

dinner rush
a restaurant drama. watched this on noah’s recommendation. we actually trucked ourselves over to a friend of his’ house on regent street, only to find when we got there that one of the friend’s roommates was sleeping on the couch in front of the tv. we kicked him out. we’re heartless.
certifiable
the vast majority of training at/for work is now behind me, which means one less thing to worry about, which has the corollary effect of a very pleasant weekend ahead.
must needs fixing
walking across the parking lot separating two of the buildings here at work, i noticed a company pen lying crushed in a crack in the asphalt. five seconds later, i was visually reminded that my car’s muffler has been reduced by time and mystery to appendix-like usefulness. both remain broken.
