northfield and back
this past weekend i drove to northfield, and back. the company in northfield, as always, was good. saturday evening saw a visit to it’s greek to me, and the chance to see andrew, dave, and steve’s new apartment. as good as the greek was, though, saturday night’s dining experience was trumped on sunday, as i ate dinner at applebee’s. as you who have frequented applebee’s already know, they like to decorate with all manner of kitschy paraphernalia. when we sat down, sitting on the low wall next to our table were a pair of cowboy hats. i started to make snide comments about them, mostly focusing on the large and unfortunate amount of hair gracing the hat nearer to me, and questioning the general overall healthiness of having it near food. i was mildly surprised when the restaurant customers on the other side of the wall picked up their hats and left the restaurant. the moral of the story? use a piece of tape or a lint brush to get the hair off your cowboy hat. last night it was suggested to me that the moral of the story should be not to trash talk other people’s clothing. i like my moral better.
also, not that anyone cares, my car just passed the 150K mile mark on this trip. it is over 15 years old and gets over 40 miles to the gallon on the interstate. not too shabby, in my opinion.
